Bug shifters mini test

We test two new bug shifters against our reigning champion from Simoniz

Your car gets splattered with bugs in summer, but is Simoniz Bug Shifter still the best product to shift them? We tested it against newly launched Turtle Wax Power Clean and Angelwax Revenge.

We compared all three on the front of a filthy test car. The screen was littered with dead bugs which the wipers couldn’t shift, so we sprayed on each, left the formulas to work as per the instructions, then wiped off with a clean microfibre cloth.

We wanted to see which lifted the most muck in one wipe, then noted how much effort it took to clear the remainder. Value for money was also a factor, based on cost and bottle size.

None of our three requires buffing after wiping, and all have simple spray caps, so this test was decided on performance.

Simoniz retains its crown – just. It’s well priced and effective on all surfaces. Turtle Wax is powerful but pricey, while Angelwax is good value but works slowly.
