  • Auto Express City Car of the Year 2023
  • Auto box for even easier driving
  • Two-year deal, 6,000 miles a year

Could this be Britain’s cheapest new car? You can have the multi-award-winning Hyundai i10 on your driveway for less than £5 a day - a total of £146 a month.

The i10 is our current favourite city car, scooping a gong to that effect in the 2023 Auto Express Awards. And the car that’s on offer at Gateway2Lease and found through Leasing.com is even an automatic model, making it the perfect city runaround.

What’s more the Advance model doesn’t scrimp on kit. You get an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a rearview camera and parking sensors, keyless entry, cruise control for those longer journeys and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The i10 was refreshed for 2023, too, with a sportier look thanks to new headlights, a revised grille and new alloy wheel designs. Safety kit got a boost, too, with collision avoidance assist, pedestrian detection, speed limit assist and lane assist.

Our deal of the day car comes with the perky 66bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine and a slick five-speed automatic gearbox. If you opt for the no-cost Mangrove Green colour, it would normally list at £16,070. This lease deal means putting down an initial payment of £1,585.80 and limiting your mileage to 6,000 per year - more than most people would do in a city car anyway.

At just under 3.7-meters long, the i10 is the perfect size for running about town. It’s got decent space for four people inside and a 252-litre boot, while with its dinky proportions, light steering and tight turning circle it’s easy to manoeuvre, too.

Performance is not a strong point – 0-62mph takes a leisurely 17.8 seconds – but for a car with a relatively short wheelbase, the ride comfort is really impressive; you won’t get jolted about on poor road surfaces.

As with every deal of the day we highlight, our team takes their expert, independent view on the deal, it’s terms and conditions and the car itself before making any recommendations - we’re never swayed by any commercial considerations when it comes to any of our verdicts. But remember, good deals don’t always last and availability may be limited, while the deal details were correct at the time of publication.
